Client Rights

I deeply respect and prioritize the well-being and comfort of my clients. I believe in empowering my clients to have a positive and empowering massage therapy experience. As my valued client, you have certain rights during a treatment session to ensure your safety, comfort, and satisfaction. Here are some of the rights I will uphold for you:

  1. Right to Informed Consent: You have the right to provide informed consent before the massage session begins. We will discuss your health history, any specific concerns or conditions, and explain the treatment plan, so you can make an educated decision about the massage.
  2. Right to Clear Communication: Effective communication is vital for a successful massage therapy experience. You have the right to express your preferences, concerns, or discomfort during the session, and we encourage open dialogue to tailor the treatment to your needs.
  3. Right to Dignity and Respect: We are committed to providing a respectful and inclusive environment. You have the right to be treated with dignity, regardless of your age, gender, ethnicity, or physical ability.
  4. Right to Set Boundaries: You have the right to establish your personal boundaries during the massage. If there are areas of your body you prefer not to be touched or if you want to modify the pressure or technique, we will always honor your preferences.
  5. Right to Privacy: Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. We maintain strict confidentiality regarding your personal information and session details. Your health history and any personal disclosures will be kept confidential and shared only with your explicit consent or as required by law.
  6. Right to a Safe Environment: Your safety is paramount. We ensure that our treatment rooms are clean, hygienic, and free from any hazards. If at any time during the session you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, you have the right to communicate your concerns, and we will take appropriate action.
  7. Right to End the Session: You have the right to end the massage session at any time for any reason. Whether you experience discomfort, pain, or simply feel that the session is not meeting your expectations, we will respect your decision to conclude the treatment.
  8. Right to Refuse Treatment: You have the right to refuse any specific treatment or technique that you are uncomfortable with or feel is not suitable for your condition.
  9. Right to Access Information: We will provide you with all necessary information about our services, fees, and policies so that you can make informed decisions about your treatment.

Practitioner Rights

As a professional massage therapist, I value the well-being of both my clients and myself. During each treatment session, I uphold certain rights to ensure a safe, respectful, and conducive environment for healing. Here are some essential rights that the practitioner asserts during their practice:
  1. Right to Consent: Our clients’ comfort and consent are of utmost importance to us. We have the right to request explicit consent before starting any massage session. This includes discussing the client’s health history, any specific concerns, and obtaining consent for the areas of the body to be treated.
  2. Right to Boundaries: We uphold the right to establish professional boundaries during a session. Our commitment to a therapeutic environment means that we will not engage in any inappropriate or unethical behavior.
  3. Right to End a Session: We have the right to terminate a session at any time if we believe it is in the best interest of the client or ourselves. This may be due to concerns about the client’s health, safety, inappropriate behavior, or any other reasons that compromise the integrity of the therapeutic relationship.
  4. Right to Refuse Service: While we strive to accommodate all clients, we reserve the right to decline or refuse service if there is a conflict of interest, safety concern, or if the client’s requests are beyond the scope of our practice.
  5. Right to Maintain Professionalism: We maintain the right to conduct ourselves with the utmost professionalism, treating all clients with respect, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
  6. Right to Personal Safety: Our personal safety is paramount, and we have the right to protect ourselves from any harm or threat during a session. We may take necessary precautions or discontinue the session if we feel unsafe.
  7. Right to Set Fees and Policies: We have the right to set our own fees and establish clear policies regarding cancellations, late arrivals, and payment methods. These policies are communicated transparently to clients.

General Policies

Thank you for choosing us as your massage and bodywork provider. In order to provide the best service possible to our clients, we have implemented the following policies:
  1. Cancellations & No Shows: We require at least 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. Clients who cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice will be billed 50% of the price of the scheduled service. Clients who do not show up for a scheduled appointment or notify us in advance will be billed for the full price of the scheduled service. We understand that emergencies and illnesses can arise, therefore last minute cancellations due to things such as verifiable emergencies, illnesses or inclement weather will generally not result in any missed session charges, however this is to be determined at the practitioner’s discretion.
  2. Late Arrival: All scheduled appointments will end at the scheduled ending time in order for us to stay on schedule. Clients who arrive late to their scheduled appointment will be charged for the full session and will not receive a time extension. For your first appointment, please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to allow time to discuss your intake forms. For all other appointments, please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to allow time to undress and get on the table to enjoy a relaxed and unhurried experience.
  3. Client Conduct: Only professional massage and bodywork services for relaxation or therapeutic purposes are offered at this massage practice. Massage services will be terminated immediately in the event of inappropriate conduct of any kind. This includes harassment, threatening speech or behavior, sexual advances or requests, or disrespectful actions or language. A session will not be conducted if the client is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If the massage is terminated for any of these reasons, full payment for the scheduled session is still required.
  4. Draping: Clients will be appropriately draped with a sheet and/or other linen at all times during their massage. Only areas of the body that are currently being treated will be exposed. The breast and genital areas will always remain draped and are never massaged.

By upholding these rights, I aim to maintain a harmonious and therapeutic atmosphere for both myself and my clients. My commitment to ethical conduct, client well-being, and continuous improvement underscores my dedication to being a trusted and responsible massage therapist.
